Northside Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a growing sacred community that wants you to be touched by God’s Grace and in turn be the touch of God’s Grace in the world.

Just as you can come to God just as you are Northside is a gathering place where all people are welcome.

Straight, gay, soldier, pacifist, rich, poor, reconciler, racist, republican, democrat, conservative, liberal, wedded, divorced, re-married, unmarried,

All are welcome here because all people are in need of God’s Grace.

Touched by this Grace we seek to live graceful lives.

We believe that as more sincere seekers of God’s Spirit gather with us in

open, honest, non-judgemental and compassionate

study, fellowship, service and worship the better God’s Spirit will form us.

Check out the Sermon Thoughts to the right.  You will see a scripture reference.  This is the scripture Frits is working on for Sunday’s sermon.   He will be placing thoughts on the page all week as he works towards  a faithful message.  He hopes you will respond to his thoughts and through an online dialogue open up the power of God’s Word for us all.

Summer Sunday School Classes

Two new Sunday School classes will be offered this fall beginning September 5th.  Saving Jesus and Arts Exploration

Saving Jesus

Saving Jesus is a small group DVD based resource that outlines theology for everyone who isn’t a raging conservative or liberal.  Basically, theology for the rest of us.  We know at Northside that many of the foundational tenants of the Christian faith that were presented to us as children no longer have the strong ring of authenticity.  However, we don’t often know how to talk about our strong convictions of Jesus, Trinity, Salvation and more.  Saving Jesus will help uparticipants discover a modern and faithful articulation of their faith.

Arts Exploration

Northside hopes to help people connect their most innermost needs with the awesome Love of God beyond sound bites.  In this effort Arts Exploration will guide participants into biblical stories and then outward through the use of creative arts.  Paint, chalk, pastel, fabric, clay.  The sunday school classroom will become an arts study as the internalization of the biblical story is given personal expression throught he manipulation of various medium.  No arts experience is necesary.

Sunday School begins at 9:30.

Bible Quest continues in September at 9:30 Sunday

The Bible Quest class will use the excellent resource, Bible Quest, to enter into a faithfilled dialogue with good friends, new and old.  The will meet on Sunday mornings beginning May 16th at 9:30 am.

You are warmly invited and will be warmly accepted.

Supper Club Book Discussion

We will start studying the book A Journey of Faith: A History of the Disciples of Christ on Sept 1st and continue for the whole month.  Discussion begins at 6 pm and supper is provided by our youth for a donation.

Coffee Chat

Coffee Chat is beginning a book discussion on What Is the Right Thing To Do by Michael Sandel on August 31st.  Everyone is invited to this great discussion group.
